Let’s Open the Door, London

Visit the London exhibit live on May 29 and 30, 2026, at Covent Garden.

Pop-up doors in London

Everyone deserves a decent place to call home. For 50 years, Habitat has been turning that mission into reality by helping millions of people around the world build, improve or finance their homes.

Today, we’re building on that momentum.

We’re popping up in nine cities with an art installation of 10 doors, each featuring work from local artists and real homeowner stories.

Together, they represent what’s possible with a safe, decent foundation.

Building on our momentum.

Through hands-on builds, pop-up exhibits, compelling new research and powerful storytelling, we’re bringing housing to the center stage at a global scale. [Learn more.](/content/open-door "Let’s Open the Door "/index.html)

Bex Glendining | Featured artist

Bex Glendining (she/they) is a biracial queer, UK based illustrator, comic artist and colourist. This is a teaser image of his door artwork.

For my door illustration, I wanted to create a sense of personality and safety in the mess and chaos of a teenager’s bedroom. The experimentation of self-expression, seeing what sticks while still being in the process of studies and feeling like you’re no longer a child but not yet an adult.

Having a safe place to sleep has always been important to me, especially in the face of housing insecurity. I’ve always loved and tried to customize the space as much as possible, making it cozy and somewhere I wanted to spend time in.

Bank of America | Featured partner

Bank of America is our featured sponsor and partner at our London stop with their own door, representing what’s possible when families achieve housing stability.

Since 1986, Bank of America has partnered with Habitat to promote affordable housing and strengthen communities worldwide. For more than four decades, this partnership has made a meaningful impact through financial support, committed employee volunteerism, including projects like the Carter Work Project globally. Together, they have expanded access to low-income families, fostering economic mobility and financial stability.

This collaboration has not only built and preserved homes but has also empowered families, highlighting the importance of purpose-driven partnerships in addressing the global need for affordable housing.
